Franchises remake and remake

In 1933, movie theaters were filled with citizens ready to see the new movie “King Kong.” Over 75 years later, people are still in the same theater watching a movie from the same company.

Throughout the years, franchises have successfully remade their movies while slightly altering them but still able to attract an audience with today’s CGI, which makes movies from 15 years ago look jurassic.

The sixth “Aliens” movie is coming out after nearly four decades from the original. We have gone through nine different Batman storylines, and other movies like “Star Wars” and “Jurassic Park” are getting revamped.

This isn’t just because of new graphics; however, these companies have a way of slightly changing the story, but still leave the audience wanting more.

However, the answer to do this is quite simple: make the movie before it good.

Movies like “Spiderman” and “Hulk” had been remade just five years after the previous makings. The dynamic characters had gone through the complete cycle and another movie to the series would seem silly. So the studio simply restarted the cycle with someone different and a new villain that leaves the viewers satisfied.

Another tactic the studio uses are upgrades in the cast in the reboots. The new “Transformers,” for example, replaced arguably mediocre child star Shia Labeouf with award-winning actor Mark Wahlberg. Whenever you mix Wahlberg with huge robotic dinosaurs, there’s only one way the studio can go, and that is up.

So rebooting may not be appealing to reviews, but they are grossing over $12 billion. I wouldn’t expect the studios to stop anytime soon, so sit and enjoy the new graphics.
