Real Versus Fake Christmas Trees

Real Versus Fake Christmas Trees

Christmas time is a time for celebrating, spending time with loved ones, and putting up festive decorations.  One important part of Christmas that many families use every year is Christmas trees,  they may spend time decorating the tree together or open presents around it every Christmas morning.

Christmas trees come in many different styles, families can buy a real tree each year or a fake Christmas tree which can come in hundreds of different colors, different styles of lights, and even fake snow.

Anywhere between 25-30 million real Christmas trees are sold every year in the United States according to The National Christmas Tree Association, many families opt for real trees because of their benefits.  Real trees smell amazing, they are better for the environment, and families often make trips to pick out and take home their favorite tree.

Though real trees have their benefits, many families choose artificial trees instead.  Around 82% of Americans will be using an artificial tree this year, and that number keeps growing according to the article Why are More and More Americans Buying Fake Trees.  Artificial Christmas trees can be used and reused for many years making them much more affordable for families, there are thousands of different styles to choose from as well.  These trees can come pre-lit, in many different colors, sizes, and styles.

Both styles of trees have their flaws as well, real Christmas trees drop pine needles on the ground and can become sticky from the sap, they are also less unique than artificial trees.

Artificial trees are much worse for the environment and do not have the same rustic Christmas feel that real trees do, the experience of picking out a fake tree often doesn’t compare to the feeling of going to the Christmas tree farm to find the perfect tree.

Christmas trees, real or fake, are appreciated by families all over the world, regardless of how people celebrate Christmas, the decorations are appreciated by many.
