‘Monster Trucks’ crushes my ratings

As the greyish blob creature slithered into the car, you can’t help but sit on the edge of  your seat wondering what’s going to happen. As the character slowly approaches the car, you soon realize that the emotional trip of fear and terror was pointless, because the creator was actually just an adorable blob.

The new film “Monster Trucks” will have a lot of these tense scenes throughout the movie making you more and more interested in it.

“Monster Truck” takes place in a small town that no one ever wants to leave, but the main character Tripp (Lucas Till) only wants to leave. In the beginning of the movie, a greedy fuel company releases a creator from the dark depths of an oil cavern, releasing three unknown creators. As the movie advances Tripp finds one of the creators, and soon realizes that it needs his help to get home. Once Tripp realizes this, he goes on an adventure with his friend Meredith (Jane Levy) to bring them home.

The movie has a lot of key factors to it that really were unique to this movie. It had a variety of emotions that really fit together throughout the movie, and managed to keep you on an emotional roller coaster. It connects you to the monster, and allows you to kind of see the movie though its view. The last major factor that really made this movie unique was that even though the creator was just CGI, the actors interaction with the creator seem remarkably realistic that you can’t help but feel like you’re actually there.

While the movie fits together a variety of emotions well and makes the movie feel smooth, it still has some flaws. The movie doesn’t give a large amount of background to certain characters in the movie, leaving gaps and unknown reasons behind the actions of some characters. The movie also ends in a cliffhanger, leaving us at a scene where you’re not sure if Tripp will ever see the creator again, or what happens to the villain of the movie. This is probably because the director is leaving room for a future film, but we won’t know until then.

For a children’s movie it was extremely interesting and well-acted. There wasn’t a single time throughout the movie I was bored, and it surely kept me on the edge of the seat. If you’re looking for a movie that all ages can enjoy, I would have to recommend this movie.
