October involves all things spooky, including the release of the second season of “Riverdale.” With its release, it only makes sense to review the first season, which was released Jan. 26,2017. “Riverdale” is aired on the CW channel and can be streamed on Netflix, and it has been a hot topic with lots of people hating it while others love it.

Riverdale is based off of the Archie comics and many people fail to see the connection. The characters in the new show have the same names and fashion as in the original comics. However, the show is a lot darker and follows a deeper plotline which involves a murder mystery and lots of romantic drama.

Although there have been lots of mixed opinions and reviews about the series, I think it does a good job of tying in the old Archie comics and making them more modern and appealing to viewers. The show is cliche, but what TV show isn’t? I think it’s entertaining and gives an ominous spin on the original comics.  TV is about entertaining viewers, and this show definitely accomplishes that with all of the plot twists and turns in the first season alone. The end of season one left viewers wondering what happens next in the highly anticipated second season.

“Riverdale” airs on the CW, Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
