Best Summer Spots in Washington Missouri
Places to Visit Around Town
The Midwest is known for having some of the most beautiful natural sights in the nation. Knowing this we should start to appreciate these sights this summer. So I have compiled a list of places close by in our hometown of Washington.
First in our hometown of Washington would be the phoenix center tennis/pickleball courts and trail. It is a great place to be competitive and active with friends and family. So all you have to bring is a ball and some rackets then you’re set for the afternoon.
Another hot summer spot nearby is Downtown Washington and the Riverfront. The small businesses, boutiques, festivals, and events going on every weekend make downtown Washington the heart of the community. Some places to stop by while downtown would be Undergrounds Coffee
Shop, Main Street Creamery, The Landing, Kim’s Candy Shop, and more. A stroll downtown on a nice warm summer day to see the coffee shops, stores, restaurants, and people all in a frenzy is a sight.
Lions Lake is an essential part of the Washington community. The lake and park are known for fishing, the perfect picture sights, watching fireworks, barbecuing with family, picnicking, and more. There are three pavilions, a gazebo around Lions Lake with several bbq pits perfect for family outings. Be sure to visit the playground with your siblings or soccer fields to play ball while there.
Washington is full of great sights and places to visit especially for shopping. Thrifting is a big part of shopping in 2023 and Washington has the perfect place for that. From Goodwill to Shop around the Corner, to Grace’s Place, and more. These are the best places in town to find the ideal piece for your wardrobe.
