Anna McFarland was nominated by journalism adviser Erika Robertson. McFarland is involved in Student Council, Leadership and Blue Jay Journal TV. “One of my favorite memories from high school was the first time I filmed a football game for Blue Jay Journal, which was my sophomore year,” McFarland said. “Being down on the field filming that game was really when I realized that film was my passion.” McFarland plans to study filmmaking after high school.

WHS Reintroduces Creativity Club

This year the Washington Highschool theatre program has introduced understudies as a new aspect to their productions. There are many benefits of having understudies for a show including having backup for a role, introducing students to the theatre program and getting more students involved in the arts. As these understudies work on learning lines, they also get to experience what it might be like as a cast member in a show. The one act these understudies are preparing for is called “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” and the shows will be performed on Oct. 29 and Oct 30.
