‘The Lego Batman Movie’ beats my ratings
Batman is depicted as a cold heartless hero, but if you’ve ever wanted to see a different spotlight on Batman, “The Lego Batman Movie” would definitely be the one to see.
The movie starts off with Batman (voice of Will Arnett) saving Gotham City again and acting as if life were perfect. Later on you soon realize Batman isn’t truly happy. Throughout the movie, Batman’s cold heart becomes warm once again with his new friends. Batman and his friends go on this heroic adventure to save Gotham City once again from Joker (voice of Zach Galifianakis).
This movie was unique in the way it tied in the actually Joker into the film. In almost every movie or comic, Joker is obsessed with Batman, and he wishes only to get Batman’s attention. You would expect a children’s movie to totally change the characters into something opposite from the original characters, but this movie manages to alter them while still keeping the major aspects of the character similar to the original. I expected the Joker to have a total opposite personality from the original Joker, but I feel that for a children’s movie they got him pretty close. This movie also lightens the serious moments with some actually pretty fun jokes, and manages to keep you intrigued throughout the whole movie. Furthermore, the voice actors and actresses really captured the character they played—fully engulfing you into the movie.
The movie has very few flaws, but one major one would have to be some of the character designs. The movie altogether was a very smooth, and animated movie, but some character movements were too choppy to fit with the other characters, making some scenes awkward. At times the music also seemed out of place.
Altogether I really enjoyed this movie. It truly can entertain anyone of any age. If I were given the choice to go watch it again, I would be more than happy to do so.
