The biggest let down of the year
Just envision a movie with CGI that is breathtaking and actors that fit a movie so perfectly you can’t believe it. Well don’t, because this movie isn’t like that.
As a person that is personally a huge fan of King Kong, I was extremely excited to watch “Kong: Skull Island” on the big screen. But it turns out the director of this movie just had to ruin that for everyone. This film has to come close to being one of the worst films I’ve ever seen in a movie franchise. The amount of bad content in this movie is mind bogglingly less than the amount of good content in it.
First off, the beginning of the movie didn’t even seem like the start of the movie. I literally thought the first scene of the movie was some random short clip for another film. The actors and actresses they picked for the movie gave the film so much potential to be something great, but the plot of the movie ruined it. The CGI by all means was good, but throughout the film there were too many little mistakes made which hindered it from being considered great. Also, the main plot to “Kong” wasn’t even followed. They scrapped basically the whole plot to King Kong and made a whole new one. I would have enjoyed the movie if it made sense, but some of the reasoning behind the characters’ decisions made no sense and resulted in unnecessary situations to occur.
The only good thing I would have to say about this movie is that the fight scenes were intense and kept you interested. These scenes weren’t amazing, but they were okay.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this movie to anyone. They changed the main plot too much, and the decisions that the characters made didn’t make sense and just frustrated you while you watched. If you want to go watch a good King Kong movie, then go watch the older ones.
