Pumpkin Pie Recipe
With the cool weather coming in, it is a reminder that fall is just around the corner. Along with fall comes many great things such as apple picking, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, Halloween, and don’t forget the amazing fall treats. One of those favorite fall foods is the famous pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is a very easy fall treat to make with only a few simple steps.
Step number one is to gather all of the needed ingredients. You will need:
- ¾ cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 large eggs,
- 1 can of pureed pumpkin
- 1 can of evaporated milk
- 1 unbaked deep-dish pie shell.
1.) Once you have all of your ingredients, preheat the oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit. While the oven is preheating, mix all of the dry ingredients into a small bowl. Once those ingredients are mixed, beat the eggs in a separate and larger bowl. Slowly pour the pumpkin and evaporated milk into the eggs and mix. Once those are mixed slowly mix in the dry ingredients into the egg-pumpkin mixture.
2.) Once all of the ingredients are mixed together in one bowl, pour the mixture into the pie shell. Make sure the mixture is evenly distributed in the pie shell. If the mixture is not even, the pie will not bake evenly.
3.) Once you ensure the mixture is distributed evenly, place the pie in the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, reduce the heat to 350 degrees fahrenheit and bake for 40 minutes. To check that the pie has cooked all the way, poke the center with a toothpick or knife and make sure that it comes out clean. If it does not come out clean, keep baking until it does. Once it is done let it cool for two hours.
Once it is done cooling it is ready to serve. Now you have made a delicious and festive fall treat. Enjoy!
