“In my 20 years serving, I was a tanker in the Marines on the M60A1 and M1A1 combat tanks. The brotherhood established with those I served alongside is impeccable,” Master Sergeant Tim Gates said. “Over the years, we have become close friends, really more like brothers. We get together every year with a huge group of other Marine tankers in San Antonio, TX to reminisce about our "glory" days. It is the best family reunion I attend.”
