A piece of advice for fellow WHS students
So as a senior at WHS, I quite literally have two days of high school left. I can’t wrap my head around that, but I wanted to give some words of advice for those I am leaving behind. First of all, my high school experience was nothing like what you see in the movies, and I really don’t think anyone’s is, no matter how hard you try to make it be that way. I started out excited as can be. Ready for a change, ready to meet new people, ready to find myself. And I certainly did find myself, but not in the way I really wanted to. One thing for certain is that life never stops for anyone. You have a huge exam that day? Life doesn’t care. Your boyfriend broke up with you? Life doesn’t care. And I know what you all are thinking. “Jadyn, why is this story so sad and negative?” And your’re right. It is. But I promise I have a point. You have to keep pushing on for yourself. I struggled with anxiety and depression throughout my whole high school career. There were days I couldn’t even get out of bed because I couldn’t find the strength and motivation for school. And that hurts me because I never wanted to get to that point, and never wanted anyone to see that side of me. But in all reality, everyone is always going through something. That is why it is important to be kind to everyone, and try your best to give yourself and others grace. High school will knock you down, but I have learned so much throughout these years. I found friends, my boyfriend, and teachers that I pray are in my life forever (yes I’m talking about you E Rob). I have also learned that God has always been with me throughout this whole experience, even the times I felt alone. I am so lucky to have had this chapter that I will never forget. No matter what just do not give up on yourself, and always do whatever you can to reach your goals. You should be proud of every accomplishment you have, and keep the people that make you feel warm inside, close. I wish you all the best, and will never forget you, WHS.
