As the weather gets colder heading into wintertime, many people find that their usual activities are halted, or you may be looking for new indoor activities to do when it’s chilly outside. Winter has a special place in my heart, just because of the coziness and the different activities.
One great winter activity is doing a puzzle. I think this is a very underrated winter activity because it’s something so simple that can keep you occupied for hours inside. You can also put music or a movie in the background to make it more enjoyable.
Another thing that you can do during the winter is indoor sports. There’s no need to stop playing sports just because it got cold. There are many leagues that offer recreational sports teams that you can play with in the off season of warm weather sports.
A fun way to spend a cold day is wearing a big hoodie and sweatpants paired with fuzzy socks and binge watching your favorite TV show or movie series. This can be done by yourself or with friends or family. Another fun cozy inside activity is having a game day where you play board games with friends and family. You can revisit your favorite board games from childhood you haven’t played in years, or play new games you haven’t before.
A perfect cold weather activity is going ice skating. This could be a fun date activity or just something to do with friends. I feel like ice skating is something that you can do and have fun with even if you’re not very good at it. It’s also only something that goes hand in hand with cold weather.
A perfect winter time activity is snow days. Here in Washington our best snow days usually come in January or February, but when they do there’s nothing better than sleeping late, getting up, bundling up and doing snow activities. After that the best drink to warm your body and hands is a steaming cup of hot chocolate topped with marshmallows.
If any of these activities sound perfect for cold weather, make sure to try them out this winter. A mix of outdoor fun, and indoor activities will make these colder days seem a little more cheery.
